Everything you need to get NotiWeave working — and how to reach us if something isn’t behaving.

Runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat) and newer

Getting started

  1. Grant Notification Access. On first launch, NotiWeave asks for Android’s Notification Access. Tap through to system settings and enable NotiWeave. This is the only permission it needs to read notifications.
  2. Allow background running. So capture keeps working while your phone is idle or after a restart, let NotiWeave ignore battery optimisation and — on some phones (e.g. Xiaomi/MIUI) — enable Autostart. NotiWeave walks you through this on first launch, and you can revisit it anytime under Settings → Permissions & background.
  3. Pick the apps to watch. Open the Apps screen and toggle on the apps you want woven into threads. Everything else is ignored.
  4. Assign sounds. Open any sender’s thread and choose a sound — a built-in tone or a ringtone/file from your device.

After updating or reinstalling the app: Android sometimes stops delivering notifications to a listener after the app is replaced. If threads stop updating, re-open NotiWeave once — it re-binds the listener automatically. If needed, toggle Notification Access off and on again for NotiWeave in system settings.

Troubleshooting

Notifications aren’t showing up in threads

  • Confirm Notification Access is enabled: Settings → Apps → Special access → Notification access → NotiWeave.
  • Confirm the sending app is toggled on in NotiWeave’s Apps screen.
  • Some manufacturers (e.g. battery-optimisation on certain devices) can suspend background listeners — exclude NotiWeave from battery optimisation if threads lag.
  • Re-open NotiWeave once after any app update to re-bind the listener.

A custom sound isn’t playing

  • Check the sound is still assigned in the sender’s thread.
  • Make sure your phone isn’t in silent / Do Not Disturb mode.
  • If you picked a file from your device, confirm it still exists and hasn’t been moved.

I want to clear my data

  • Wipe everything captured: Settings → Clear captured data.
  • Stop all capture: revoke Notification Access in system settings.
  • Remove everything: uninstall the app — all stored data goes with it.

Frequently asked

Is there an iPhone version?

No. iOS gives apps no way to read other apps’ notifications, so NotiWeave is Android-only.

Does NotiWeave use the internet?

No. There’s no server or account. Everything happens on your device and nothing is uploaded. See the privacy policy.

Will it drain my battery?

NotiWeave listens to notifications you already receive rather than polling anything, so impact is minimal. On some devices you may need to exclude it from aggressive battery optimisation to keep threads current.
